So you clicked the “about” button. I’m guessing that means you’re wondering, “Who is this chick?” Well, allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Hov. My name is Laura and right now there are four very important things you need to know about me – I am a wife, a mother, and a middle school teacher, and I am Roman Catholic (that is the driving force behind all the things I do and decisions I make). There are so many wonderful Catholic mom blogs here on the internet, and my hope is to add my little, imperfect voice to that discussion in a positive and meaningful way.
Why is this page called “The Fortunate Fool?” Because (besides being a HUGE Jack Johnson fan) there are no two words that can go together in such a perfect way to describe me.
Fortunate: I have been blessed in my life in so many ways that it would take years for me to list them all, but the biggest are my husband, Marc, and my two amazingly adorable (seriously, sometimes I wonder where they got their genes) children, Matthew and Margaret.
Fool: “a person who acts unwisely or imprudently.” Believe me, there are so many times in life where I feel like I am just stumbling my way through life, and although I have the best of intentions, I am constantly messing up and having to try again! I am the epitome of “foot in mouth”.
So, I’m glad you’re here. I hope you’ll read what I have to say (notice I didn’t say “like”), add your thoughts, and spread the love!
